This 5-day, December & Christmas read-aloud unit focuses on reviewing 2nd and 3rd grade literature standards through the use of the picture book Dasher by Tavares. You will need a copy of this book for use throughout the unit. The unit includes five 35-minute lessons as outlined on the sample pacing calendar. This is just a suggested format and can be adapted to fit your instructional format and students’ needs. The instructions for each day’s lesson are followed by the corresponding student pages that tie in with each of the daily lessons.
